IMPORTANT NOTE FOR E-MAILING PROPOSAL REQUEST:
Because of the ever increasing volume of unsolicited "spam" e-mail as well as virus infected e-mail we receive, it is possible your proposal request e-mail could be removed from our system unless you do the following.

    1. The subject of your e-mail should read: FLOOR PLANS
    2. Be sure to include your phone number in the body of your e-mail message in case we need to reach you.
    3. Floor plans should be sent as an attachment to your e-mail
    4. Plans should be in jpg, gif, tif or pdf format.
  7. Who can install my Radiantec System?
    • Our systems are designed to be installed by a reasonably competent do-it-yourselfer using simple tools and following our easy-to-read installation manual. We'll even send you the manual free of charge with no purchase commitment to help you decide whether you want to do your own installation. Some purchasers choose to have a heating professional handle the installation, guided by our installation manual.
  8. Do Radiantec systems and products meet my local codes?
    • Radiantec markets many products and several system types. Some of these products and systems are conventional and have few code problems. Others represent newer technology and codes may not have yet "caught up" to these newer practices.
    • We recommend that you have the Radiantec schematic reviewed and approved by code enforcement officials before ordering. Radiantec almost certainly has a system that will meet code requirements.
    • Click here to read more about building codes approval.
  9. Why does Radiantec not sell more sophisticated controllers?
    • Radiant heat used to be installed in uninsulated buildings constructed upon an uninsulated concrete slab. These buildings were hard to control because the slab and the earth underneath, with its huge thermal mass would not respond promptly to changes in the buildings need for heat.
    • The engineering literature of the time indicated a need for complex controls that used an outside thermometer and reset controls to get a "jump-start" on changing conditions. But a very important factor was overlooked.
    • Outside air temperature is only one factor in a building's need for heat. Other factors are equally or more important and these controls do not address them. Radiation from the sun is important as well as radiant losses to the night sky. Wind and internal heat gains are also quite important.
    • It is our opinion, and our experience, that if a building is reasonably well insulated, and if the slab is insulated away from the earth, or if a wooden floor system is used, the problem does not exist to an important degree.
    • Our fellow professionals and competitors are entitled to their opinions and we have ours. These controls may be a poor solution to a problem that no longer exists.
  10. Will you give us a piping layout?
    • We will generally give you all the help that you want. We will tell you exactly how much tubing will go where, how long the lengths should be, how many aluminum plates to use, etc. This is what is most important. The installer, however, should have discretion in the layout, because he can see things that we cannot. Also, an exact perfect layout doesn't really matter and can waste a lot of time.
    • There are usually many acceptable ways to lay out the tubing. If we dictate a particular way, the installer might think this is the only acceptable way and do a lot of extra work.
